A photo of Ivanka Trump sitting in the president’s Oval Office chair was shared by her with a caption talking about “the importance of women having a seat at the table”.
Ivanka tweeted that she had a great discussion with two world leaders, her father Donald Trump and Justin Trudeau, the Canadian prime minister, about women in business.
According to AP, she attended the conversation about women in the labor force for which she help recruit members and write the agenda.
A joint task force has been announced by The US and Canada to help out women in the workplace. This task force will explore topics such as childcare and maternity leaves.
The meeting was attended by top female executives from both countries. In it, President Trump stated that the system isn’t working well for entrepreneurs, especially women.
“In order to create economic growth and lots of very good, well-paying jobs, we must ensure that our economy is a place where women can work and thrive” Trump added.
“I think that’s happening in the United States much more so. And Ivanka is very much involved in this. And I appreciate you being involved in it,” he said.
The task force is about understanding that women in leadership positions has a substantial influential impact to success for business, communities, and the entire economy, according to Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau.
Trudeau had stated earlier that he’s not going to discuss President Trump’s controversial travel ban, stating “I won’t lecture him”.
He added “There have been times where we have differed in our approaches and that’s always been done firmly and respectfully. The last thing Canadians expect is for me to come down and lecture another country on how they choose to govern themselves.”
