The break up between Hollywood A listers Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is getting even uglier. New court documents have revealed that Angelina believed her ex is trying to “publicly impugn” her character. The papers also say that Brad is “terrified the public will learn the truth”.

The new details come as Angelina approved her estranged husband’s request to have their children’s records legally sealed. Fight Club actor Brad, 53, asked that a judge in the Los Angeles Superior Court seal all records relating to the couple’s six children.

Forty one year old Angelina has agreed to that request, but has accused Brad of requesting the move to detract from his own role in the break up and subsequent media storm. Acting for Angelina, attorney Laura Wasser said that the case had been of extraordinary interest to the public. She added that there was no doubt that Brad would like to keep the entire proceedings private, particularly an investigation into allegations of abuse against his eldest son.

Allegations

The attorney says that Angelina has not answered all allegations from Brad against her because she did not want to increase media interest even further. In a statement, she adds: “Her conduct in this case has been grossly mischaracterized by (Pitt),” and that he was looking to cast blame on Angelina rather than have the public learn the truth.

The documents also claim that Brad is refusing to stick to an agreement that he will have only weekly therapeutic visits with his kids. Brad and his family are alleged to have become embroiled in a heated row on board a private plane last year. However, Brad has been exonerated of allegations that he physically abused his eldest son Maddox. He and his legal team are now seeking visits which are not therapeutic and supervised.
