The auctions are having a positive effect on queue trading: lines are being reduced due to people winning their requests through the auctions. But what happens if you are low on points and what to earn a lot of points in a short time span? Well, if you have a brand new DVD or video game that is still in the wrapper, chances are it will earn over 3000 points in the auctions. And now with the ability to auction off consoles and accessories, your opportunities to auction off even more items has greatly increased.
You can now pull those old dusty systems out and (so long as they’re in complete working condition) put them on the auction in the hopes of earning a bevy of points. Collectors should start to go nuts for some of the classic offerings. One of the better offers is a complete in-box Genesis that is, or at least was, on the auction block. The accessories options are looking good as well. There are a few modern controllers, a few memory cards, and other items. Outside of the Genesis, auction goers should be interested in the 3rd party wireless Wii/GC controller, and the Retron 2. Hopefully, when the Retron 5 comes out, someone puts that up for auction.
While there are a lot of classic systems and accessories up for auction right now, it’s only a matter of time before we see how successful this is. Will we see people auctioning off their PS3/360 in the hopes of racking up the points to start bidding on new-gen games? It’s really a good time to get one of those consoles anyways: there’s plenty of games to keep you busy until the first or second console price drop of the next generation. Whether you’re looking to fill your Goozex bank or purge out a huge bankroll, the console/accessory trading page will definitely be worth keeping an eye on as it develops.
