"PlayOutside is Nintendo's most revolutionary tech ever," says Fils-Aime. "With hyper-realistic glasses-free 3D in beyond HD clarity, PlayOutside is like nothing you've ever done in video games before. Simply boot up your Wii U, launch PlayOutside, grab your accessories, and step out the door! Our full-immersion technology will make you feel like you're really there!”
GoozerNation asked Reggie about the different titles they plan for PlayOutside. "PlayOutside will start with some very basic games, such as Baseball and Football. Feel every crack of the bat in Baseball, and the wind rushing by as you sprint for the end zone in Football. Regional titles will be available as well: people living on the coasts will enjoy Super Surfing and those near mountains can experience PlayOutside Skiing.
Reggie continued, "With the use of the patented Imagination Engine, epic role-playing games will be released as well. The first title planned for the RPG format is based on the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, complete with a three-book, 1137-page instruction manual. After studying the manual, just step out the door. The Imagination Engine will do the rest. It may take some getting used to, like the 3D rendering on the Nintendo 3DS handheld device, but we are sure that once people adjust their viewing to the Imagination Engine, there will be no experience like it.”
GoozerNation wanted to know if this new system will allow for multiplayer. "PlayOutside will be most conducive to Massive Local Multiplayer, ideal for the non-internet casual market. There will be a niche for hardcore gamers and techies, as for the first time in it's history, Nintendo is leaving the source code for each game wide open, allowing for open mods as you see fit. Feel like crossing Football with Lord of the Rings? The Imagination Engine allows you to utilize any software -- even create your own -- at your command, on the fly, even mid-game!"
Fils-Aime expressed to GoozerNation that Nintendo feels this is the ultimate experience for gamers. How will Sony and Microsoft react? We'll have to wait and see what their retaliation plan is. Until then, get ready to PlayOutside with your friends this summer!
