Prototype is an open world action adventure game released way back in ’09. In it you play Alex Mercer, an ordinary man who wakes up one day on a morgue table with no knowledge as to who he is and how he got there. He also discovers that he has some truly incredible superpowers. Wanted dead by the military he flees for answers. All of this is happening while a deadly plague sweeps over New York City, turning humans into monsters. Honestly, the story isn’t that great (or original).
Traveller’s Tales have done an excellent job with the Lego series. Gamers have played games featuring Star Wars, Batman, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, and even Rock Band. Almost anyone can pick up and play these games, the question is, why are they so popular?
I got my copy of Red Faction: Armageddon so long ago I almost forgot I had it, which translates to mean it’s been sitting in my backlog for many months. Recently, I got sick and spent a couple days at home with nothing to do but recover. Hands down this generation had some of the best games in several generations. Looking back, gamers will talk about RROD, YLOD, PS+, Xbox Live, the Wii and motion controls, Kinect, and the games that made this generation. Games such as the Halo series, the Uncharted series, Dishonored, Skyrim, Mario Galaxy, Skyward Sword and the list goes on and on. But what about those non-AAA games? The overlooked gems of this generation? If gamers can look past the bad reviews, there might be something there worth playing here.

The winter months are slow for new games, which leads to fantastic deals on older releases for console and PC games.
