Johnny Galecki, who plays Leonard on hit TV show The Big Bang Theory, was unharmed after his ranch property burnt down
Johnny Galecki’s large ranch, situated in San Luis Obispo between Los Angeles and San Francisco, was consumed by a massive fire on Monday evening. Galecki was not on the property at the time of the fire, and no other individuals have been harmed.
The 1,200 acre fire destroyed the ranch and other property on the estate. A representative for Galecki stated he plans to visit the ranch once the fire is contained. So far, only 40% of the fire has been contained.
Wildfires have plagued the area for years, destroying forests and thousands of acres of property.
Galecki is renowned for playing Dr. Leonard Hofstadter in the CBS sitcom “The Big Bang Theory”, of which there are currently twelve seasons.
Galecki is one of the highest-paid stars on television today, alongside his “Big Bang” co-stars Jim Parsons (Dr. Sheldon Cooper) and Kaley Cuoco (Penny).
Galecki issued heartfelt statement after the blaze
“My heart goes out to all in the area who are also experiencing loss from this vicious fire, the threat of which we live with constantly, which may seem crazy to some but we do so because living in our beautiful, rural area makes it worthwhile,” Galecki said in a statement.
“It’s never the structures that create a community — it’s the people. And if the people of Santa Margarita have taught me anything it’s that, once the smoke has cleared, literally and figuratively, it’s a time to reach out and rebuild.
We’ve done it before, and will need to do it together again, and it will make our community even closer and stronger. Endless thanks to CalFire and the Sheriff’s Office. I know you guys are fighting the good fight to keep us safe. So very relieved no one has been hurt.”
