Cristiano Ronaldo: Hero, Villian In Classico Clash

Cristiano Ronaldo was the hero and the villain as he scored shortly after coming on for Real Madrid in the Supercup game against Barcelona and was sent off for shoving the referee.

Ronaldo was introduced in the 57th minute of the game and with 9 minutes of normal left to play, found the back of the net with a sensational strike. However, his joy was short lived as he received two yellow cards in quick succession and was sent off after pushing the referee.

Extravagant Celebration

Ronaldo’s first yellow card came after he took off his shirt to celebrate his goal in the first leg of the Super Cup. And two minutes after that, he was issued with another yellow card for allegedly diving in the box, which made him lose his head and shoved the referee.

Ronaldo’s red card did not affect Madrid much as they added a third goal late in the game to take their lead to two as the game ended 3-1. This gives them a huge advantage to take back to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ronaldo is now ruled out of the tier’s second leg and there is the possibility that he could face a further suspension that could rule him out for up to 12 games if the incident is taking into consideration by the Spanish Liga.
