I Didn’t Leave Barcelona For Money – Neymar

Brazil and former Barcelona striker, Neymar has revealed that he didn’t move to PSG because of the money involved.

The Brazilian’s decision to join PSG came as a shock as it is seen as a step down given Barcelona’s status in world football but Neymar has come out to defend the 222 million fee that was paid to make him the most expensive player in the world.

“The price of my transfer is not a buden in anyway” He said

The chairman of the French club Nasser Al-Khelaifi reiterated Neymar’s stance that he is moving because of money as he could easily have made the same money elsewhere.

Neymar during his unveiling told members of the press that people who think he moved because of money don’t know a lot about him. “ People don’t know me and that’s why they think the way they do. Money has never been my motivation.”

“If it was all about money, I could have moved to another club because I had different offers but I decided to come to a club that believs in my abilities.

Al-Khelaifi added: “He didn’t move here because of the money involved but he believed in the project that we are carrying out and wanted to be a part of it and that’s that.”

Just Like Figo

Following his decision to leave Barcelona, fans of the Spanish club drew up comparison between him and Luis Figo who left the club for Real Madrid. But Neymar revealed that he is unfazed by the comparison and has done nothing wrong to warrant that tag.
