Superstar singer Jennifer Lopez has been refused a restraining order against a man she claims is stalking her after he turned up at the home where she lives with her two young children.
The 47 year old was given a temporary restraining order against Timothy McLanahan after explaining that he had sent her unwanted gifts, followed her across California, and turned up at her property. The star’s security staff are understood to have been given the responsibility of serving McLanahan with legal documentation. But, before they have not been able to find him, a judge has now dismissed the request.
However, Jenny from the Block has now asked her legal team for help and it is understood they are set to seek protection for her. The temporary restraining order meant that McLanahan had to stay at least 100 yards away from Jennifer and her family after he was arrested for trespassing at her home.
Fears for her safety
In legal documents, the star said she was worried not only about her own safety, but that of her eight year old twins Emme and Max. The singer’s bodyguard says in the court papers that the man had previously been arrested in connection with firearms violations and for making threats. He has also been to J-Lo’s shows, sending her mail and flowers.
The protection order request comes as Jennifer’s new relationship with fellow musician Drake is said to be becoming more serious. The two stars are also understood to be making new music together, with J-Lo revealing that Drake, 30, had asked her to collaborate on a track. The pair got together after the rapper split from his on off lover Rihanna. Meanwhile, Jennifer had broken up from her toy boy Casper Smart after he refused to attend a charity night with her, opting for a boys’ night out instead.
