Lyon forward, Alexandre Lacazette, is currently having his medical at Arsenal as he is set to sign a contract with around 45 million pounds.
This will make him Arsenal’s record signifying as the French club had initially rejected a bid that could have scuppered the talks between the two parties.
The total fee could rise up to 52 million pounds with add-ons, which is more than the 42 million pounds that the club paid for Mesut Ozil.
Verified goalscorer for Lyon
Alexandre ended last season with 28 league goals, finishing on the second spot on the top scorer’s log just below Paris Saint-Germain’s Ederson Cavani who scored 35 goals.
He has found the back of the net 129 times ever since he broke into Lyon’s first team in just 275 appearances for the French club.
Lacazette is currently on 11 caps for his country France and was previously linked with a move to Atletico Madrid. But the deal was put on hold following the transfer ban on the Spanish club.
This is a sign of intent by Arsenal as Ivan Gazidis had promised that the club will sign top players during a question and answer session with fans.
Arsenal has already secured the services of Sead Kolasinac and it is expected that more players will be led in Schalke O4, before the close of the transfer window this summer.
