Summer Zervos who accused Trump of sexual assault is to launch a lawsuit alleging defamation.
Attending a press conference with attorney Gloria Allred they announced the lawsuit in New York. It alleges that Trump used his platform to falsely degenerate her and other women who accused him of sexual misconduct.
Before the election, Zervos accused Trump of inappropriate sexual advances. This included groping her when she asked him for career advice during a meeting in Beverly Hills. This was a year after she appeared on the television show The Apprentice with Donald Trump. She did not file a lawsuit at the time.
Her attorney Allred stated that after Trump was accused by the women of sexual misconduct, saying “he knowingly, intentionally, and maliciously threw each of these women under the bus.”
She continued, “Enough is enough. Truth matters. Women matter, those who allege they were victims of sexual misconduct or sexual assault by Mr. Trump matter.”
No Retraction from Trump
Zervos said, “(Trump) has not issued a retraction, as I requested, he has left me with no alternative but to sue him in order to vindicate my reputation.”
She continued to say that she filed the lawsuit to restore her reputation. The lawsuit calls for the president-elect to fight them in court or admit sexual misconduct.
Allred said her client took a polygraph test and passed it. She added she wanted to subpoena outtakes of The Apprentice to determine Trump’s attitudes towards her client.
Allred said she “would fully expect Mr. Trump’s attorneys will be fighting this with everything they have.
“We are going to fight this fight, we are going to fight this battle, because Ms. Zervos is the right one to fight for.”
Zervos said she was prompted to come forward last year after hearing the outtake where Trump can be heard bragging to Billy Bush about grabbing women by their sexual organs.
